Melo presented at the University of Manchester’s AI and Data science conference

We recently made our way to the University of Manchester’s Advances in Data Science and AI (ADSAI) 2024 conference with the research team from Salford Royal’s Neuropsychology department, to present our research in developing an AI chatbot to analyse challenging to manage behaviours.

The conference was a perfect opportunity to showcase the amazing work of our resident data scientist, Prem, who has, with valuable input from colleagues at Salford Royal, spent his time developing a chatbot that streamlines the analysis and summary of ABC charts with the view of elevating clinical practice and improving patient outcomes.

On top of that, it was a chance to hear other professional’s opinions and questions not only on the work we do with Melo, but on the intricacies of our AI chatbot itself. Prem highlighted this further in a recent chat:

It was an incredible experience demonstrating the Melo AI chatbot at the ADSAI conference. We had the opportunity to connect with numerous data science experts and learn about some of the latest research and see the innovative ways AI is being utilized across various fields. Showcasing how Melo’s AI chatbot can assist in neuro-rehabilitation by providing rapid and accurate analysis of patient behaviors was particularly rewarding. The feedback and insights gained will undoubtedly help us refine and expand the capabilities of our technology.

The two day conference was full of interesting and innovative ideas. On day one, there was a particular focus on health related AI implementation, ranging from the application of AI in improving electronic health records, to implementing AI in overall clinical practice. The chance to hear about how AI is being used in healthcare provided new perspectives and ideas of what directions to take our AI in next.
